 FAQs

  • Although some people join with a friend or family member, most participants joining, usually join theses retreats alone. So if you’re thinking of joining alone, you will be in good company, surrounded by like minded humans, who are probably attending for similar reasons to you.

These classes are the perfect space to connect, meet new people and build community.

Equally, they also allow space for solitude, if you’re feeling a little more introverted and are simply needing some time for yourself.

  • There is no experience of yoga or somatics needed for these classes.

The practices are gentle, accessible and can be adapted to all bodies.

Simply show up and you will be held and guided every step of the way.

  • The word somatic comes from the Greek word soma, meaning “body” or “living body in its wholeness”.

The term Somatics was coined in the 70s by Thomas Hanna, to describe the practice of experiencing the living body from within; as a modality to support the re-integration of body and mind in a society that often pulls them apart and creates a sense of separation.

Somatic practices support the reconnection to our bodies (our home and only vessel for experiencing this life) in a world that has conditioned us stay stuck in our heads.

‘Somatics’ describes practices that integrate the body and mind, or all spheres of our being, including the spiritual sphere, our connection to each other, and the earth.

Somatic practices primarily focus on strengthening the body-mind connection, as we reclaim our capacity to feel and work with the natural intelligence of the body. This has an abundance of healing and transformative properties.

Testimonials 💌

“Izzy has created such a beautiful, unique space with her practice that always makes you feel welcome and held. Her classes are like a warm hug at the end of a stressful day.

I have learnt so much about my body and mind in these classes which I carry with me in my day to day life. From stretches I’ve incorporated throughout my day to different breathing exercises I apply in times of anxiety or when I’m struggling to sleep.

If you are looking to reconnect with your body, exercises to help ease anxiety or simply a space where rest is encouraged among your busy routine then I wholeheartedly recommend Izzy’s classes.”
